Weazel's Christmas Collar
"All I was doing was defending the yard against that gray cat.  I would have had him too, if he hadn't landed a claw in my neck and made that big hole... hurts too...  I'm so embarrassed, the least mom could have done was made this annoying collar out of black... says it was for the Christmas season...  I promised I wouldn't scratch the wound open again, but she wouldn't believe me...  whatever..."
Tina's punishment

"Dang, I wish mom wouldn't have startled me, I just wanted her to see the mouse I caught.  She's really pissed at me for dropping it.  Now, I have to wait here 'till it comes out from under the stove so I can catch it again.
And Maynerd Makes Five
This is the new addition to our herd of cats. He was a stray and wouldn't go away when the other cats chased him, so he gets to stay. He's probably 5-6 months old, and it took us about a month to tame him. Tina & Jett still hiss once in a while, but they're getting better. I love the way his white fur feathers into the black. He has very long legs, long head and tail, so he probably has a bit of Siamese in him.
sigh....  I love my humans, but....
why did they make this napping shelf so small.  Just once, I wish, just once, they would get things right.... just once....
sigh....  I'm going to need a chiropractor.... again....

"I'm thinken maybe they need to starts putting 48 cans in a box, cause my butt looks big"

"It was late when I arrive home from work, and I still had that big project to get done for a new customer... they wanted it the next day. sigh Doesn't everyone? I pulled my trusty little laptop out of it's case and plugged it in at my desk. Now for an adult beverage, it's Miller time. When I returned I found I had a helper, although I'm not sure just how this was helping..."
excerpts from 'A Husbands Life, Dealing With HER Cats', memoirs to be released... well... never.

This is a really weird angle, this cat shelf is above a door leading out of my studio.
Weazel looks like pure evil.  "Give me your kittens, I will destroy them".

"Gee, I sure wish mom would buy us some bigger beds to nap in, this is just plain old uncomfortable. Wonder if my butt looks big in this thing..."
"Oh gosh, what a terrible hangover.  (teehee)  But I had fun, who was that crazy chick, err, kitten, dancing on the tables.  Man oh man, her fur was soft as silk.  Too bad she lives cross town.  Maybe I'll go see her tonight, I hear there's going to be a full moon.  Gees, my head hurts."
I was taking pictures the other day and forgot to turn the light off when I was done.  Tina thought since it was so nice and warm, she would climb in and take a nap.  This brings a 'whole new light' to the meaning of sauna.
This is why I wake up with a back ache sometimes, from sleeping in a fetal position all night.
Tina:  What chya doin?

Weazel:  Nothin, just sitten here making paw prints all over dad's pickup.  What'r you doin?

Tina:  Just keepen out of the rain.

Weazel:  I love the rain, helps make dirtier paw prints on dad's pickup.
Sometimes those molehills are just as hard to climb, but it makes good practice for chasing squirrels.
SPOOKY

I had no idea what the cats were looking at until I took this picture and caught Maggie's eyes in the flash.
Weazel is like most cats, he loves to look out the window.

A few years back when Tina and her sister Magie came to us as strays, we didn't
know they were equipped with five soon-to-be-curtain-climbers each. The two litters
were born within 12 hours of each other in the same nursery box, and so, were raised
as one litter by both cats. It was one of the most enjoyable 4 months I've ever had.

You come one step closer and I'm gonna tell mom you're pickin on me!!!
Dang, who let one, I was just about asleep and someone let one....  Dang, that smells bad....

This is Mouse, at 8 yrs old, he's the oldest and our biggest cat, but scared of everything that moves.
it's a puppy,
it's a surfboard,
it's a lion rug,
no,
it's our Weazel

This is Jabba The Cat.  Actually, it's my daughters cat, KittyRat.  He's a Javanese.  Extraordinary cats.  Softer than a rabbit and always craving attention.
This is one of our cats Mouse, just haning out in the back yard.
Does this pose make me look fat? I make a great foot warmer!!!
Well at least she had
the sense to not drink
and drive.

My Office Help

"Hay mom, ya need some help there? Wait a minute, I'll get my pen so I can take dictation. Now where did I put that paper tablet? Oh, I'm laying on it."

Good help is so hard to find.
The Inspector

We had an anniversary this week. 3 dozen roses are a bit harder to decently arrange than I expected. It was a tough job, but someone had to do it... and I love every minute of it. That's Jett inspecting the finished job.
time out

This is what happens when your cat has been bad and you put her in time out. She just curl up and goes to sleep.  I'm not sure, but I think Tina is half upside down.

My Pool Kitty

I haven't put up many pictures of Weazel so it was his turn. He is a black tabby and he loves to walk around the edge of the pool and float on rafts. Sprinklers and water puddles after it rains.
Devil Cat Tina
I took this picture of Tina in the next room. There were no lights on and their was no camera flash but somehow light refracted off her eyes. Not even the same color, one red and one green. Maybe this is one I should send to Coast to Coast.

"Gees, this construction work is hard, I'm gonna get me a different job. Right after I take a nap." As many of you know, we are building a room on to our house for me to use as a studio, my own little corner of the universe. This is how Weazel decided to help one day. Dang, it's hard to get good help nowadays.

Hay mom, did you know you have ants on your desk? It's not a problem though, don't worry about it, I'll get them for you. Tina, super bug catcher cat is on the job.

Ain't spring a wonderful time of year? There is always time to just sit and enjoy the flowers, especially when you're a cat.
I just had a hard night. It ain't easy being a cat. All that night prowling ya have to do just to keep up your reputation as being a tough guy. So many cats to chase out of the yard, so little time.
Took this on Valentimes Day.

This is my
sweetheart cat Tina.
It's Devil Wack-A-Mole

One night I heard one of the cats playing in the closet. Ya right, playing hah.  This is what I found
when I got up that morning. Somehow one of them brought this in through the cat door and across the
house into the closet and didn't drop a single twig anywhere along the way. What a good neat kitty.

I'm never really sure if our Weazel is peeking at you or if he actually sleeps with his eyes cracked.

This is our Tina. I think I've seen this pose before, but in human form and with a hangover.

This is Jett & Tina, daughter & mother.  That can't be comfortable.

Weazel just loves to be in the kitchen and under foot when ever we are cooking. He also loves to go inside HIS cupboard on the right side of the stove. We were baking a cheesecake the other day and I guess he thought he should have been allowed to go into the stove to see what was going on in their.
da boys
I hardly ever photograph Mouse, he's the black & white. Weazel and him have become buddies since I lost Morris last year. You should see them defend the yard. They use to enjoy chasing dogs but they all got smart and none of the neighbor dogs will wonder into our yard anymore. That's what happens when you're too good at your job.

If you follow my blog then you know that I went to visit my daughter a couple of weeks ago This is her 'kittyrat'. He's a Balinese and yes, his eyes are that color of deep blue. He doesn't quite fit into the 'look' of the breed so he probably has a bit of a mut in him but has all the trates. If you're not familiar with the Balinese, they are a rare breed of Siamese. Their fur is finer and softer than a rabbit and they have the best personality. You have to really want one of these cats cause they are demaning in the attention department. They crave human contact and kitty is always on your lap or rubbing on your glasses.

Tina get to be the star this week.  She loves to lay upside down with her front paws in a fetal position and look at you upside down.  Here she is on my desk and she almost looks like a walrus in this shot.  She is such a goofy cat, love those eyes.  That's her favorite toy she's laying on, any piece of paper will do.

Weazel lays in the most unusual ways.  In this picture he has both back legs hanging off of the bench.
I had this picture on last weeks auctions and daughter emailed with a better caption than the one I had:

It might be a sign that you have too many cats when you have to start stacking them up.

Oh man, that can't be very comfortable.
This is Tina with Jet deciding she wanted to
lay on the top shelf too, anyway she could.

The Witching Hour
Those eyes look like they could reach right into your mind and read it.  This is Jet.  Tina is sitting behind her.  Tina is my talker, she sits behind me on my chair when I am making beads and softly meows to me.  Jet's fur is like silk, luckily she is a lap cat and loves to be pet.

In My Eye
Excuse me but I think your foot is in my eye!!!
In an effort to minimize the cat hair in the house with 5 cats (and by the way, it does help), I put boxes in a couple of their favorite napping spots.  Guess Maggie got to tired to go find an empty box and just climbed in with Tina.

Sleeping It Off
We buy these expensive cat condo's cause they come with free beer.

Sad story with a happy ending
About a year ago my treasured “Morris the cat” was feeling puny.  After 2 vi$$its to the vet to clean his teeth, he was still drooling.  On the third visit, they tested him for aids.  In hind site, he had had symptoms for years.  Having to leave my sidekick to be euphemized was the hardest most traumatic decision of my life.  There is now a vaccine for feline aids, get your cats tested, 8 to 10 percent will get the disease. “Mouse the cat” was getting lonely so we decided to get him “a” kitten.  Be careful what you ask for.  An acquaintance had two strays she wanted to find a home for.  OK, I’ll take “one”.  So which one do I doom to be caught by the dogcatcher?  Well, we took them both.  Maggie & Tina.  That same day this cute cat showed up in the yard, he had a collar so he had to have a home, right?  After three days of not feeding him so he would go home, we noticed the people down the street had moved.  By this time he had effectively “Weazel”ed his way into my heart anyway.  One kitten turned into three.  But wait, both girls came equipped with “kittens on the way”.  Tina had 5 kittens first and when Maggie went into the nursery box the next day to visit she added 5 more to the commune.  Who’s kittens belong to whom?  Who cares.  The 10 were raised by both mothers.  Flash back to the 60’s.  So now 1 turned into 13 extra cats in the house.  9 of the kittens have long since been given away and I miss the little black herd stampeding through the living room.  But the excitement is far from over.  Every morning I wake up to more toys scattered all over the house than my kids use to scatter.  Jett’s (the remaining kitten) favorite toys are the twigs and pecans she brings in by the dozen.  Maggie, on the other hand likes to bring me birds and mice like she did in my blog last week.  I will never understand how a cat can actually catch a bird but that’s just mother nature.  Never a dull moment.

Break-in on Elm Street leaves one dead
The crime scene was a large one, encompassing four areas of the house.  One eye witness interviewed at the scene was quoted to say "Meow meow meow meow, meow!!!  Meow meow meow."  The scene was taped off, forensic evidence gathered, pictures were taken and the body removed to a waiting dumpster.  These are the actual photos released by the authorities for publication.  Name of the victim bird is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  It is not known at this time how many perpetrators were involved, but two suspects are being questioned.

Naptime
"Dad, scratch my belly before we take our nap."Our Weasel is a hoot.  He is a black tabby, as you can see from the stripes.

When Will It End
"Oh my gosh.  Can't wait until these kittens are born so I can see my feet again."
Roadkill Mouse
No kidding, we have a whole portfolio of Mouse laying like this.  We call it roadkill but he is peaking at us in this picture so it's probably more like a hangover.  Been there, done that, tossed the pictures though.

Weasel the surfboard
Earlier this year I had a treasured cat put to sleep. 8 to 10 percent of cats will get feline aids, have your cats checked for it, there is now a once-a-year shot to prevent it. Several months passed before we decided to get A kitten for our remaining cat and we wound up rescuing two young females. Little did we know they were both pregnant, but that is a story for another auction. The day we brought the girls home, this black cat showed up in the yard. I wouldn't feed him and three days later he was still romping and playing with our main cat. Needless to say, he 'Weaseled' his way into our hearts. He is a stunning black tabby and surfboard style is his favorite way to lay, it is so funny to see a cat lay like that. Be careful what you ask for, I only wanted one more cat
